Private Limited, a grower and exporter of roses from Bangalore India, expands its
capacity by adding more green houses, taking its total green house cultivation area
to 4 hectares. Rayer Flora started in 2003 with one hectare of green house growing
area in its farm located in Hosur, 35KM from Bangalore airport. According to
Mr.V.Mani, Managing director, increased demand form customers both from export and
domestic markets for its quality roses necessitated the expansion. "We started our
expansion in 2005 and completed the planting few months before, and hence we should
have the additional capacity coming in handy to meet valentine 2007 demand" stated
Mr.Mani. According to him, Rayer Flora targeting to export 250,000 red roses for
Valentine 2006 and had already started booking orders from its overseas customers.

Rayer Flora apart from growing popular red rose verities like Grand gala and First
red, added newer verities that are in good demand in Middle-east and European
markets. Newer varieties include Royal Baccara (Red), Gold Strike (Yellow),
Tropical Amazon (Orange), circus (bi-color), Milva etc. With this expansion, Rayer
Flora will have a production capacity over 6million stems of cut-roses annually.
Rayer Flora also added another cold room to handle the increased pre-cooling and
storage requirements. Rayer Flora Managing Director, Mr. V.Mani said "with our new
cold storage facility we can easily store about 500,000 stems of roses at any given
point of time".
